Battery, starter, alternator, ignition switch, fuel delivery, or a security system that's locked you out. I test the circuit at your car instead of guessing and selling you a part you didn't need.

Load-tested, not just "it reads 12 volts." If it fails, I carry common group sizes for sedans, trucks, and SUVs and can install on the spot. Terminals cleaned and treated before I leave.

Brakes — pads, rotors, calipers
Grinding, pulsing pedal, pulling to one side, or a warning light. Pads and rotors done in your driveway with the wheels off and the hardware greased properly. I'll show you the worn parts before they go in the box.

Full OBD-II scan with live data, not just the code readout. You get the code, what it actually means on your vehicle, and what it costs to fix — in writing, before anything gets touched.

Oil, filters & fluids
Conventional, synthetic blend, or full synthetic to your manufacturer's spec. Oil filter, air filter, cabin filter, coolant, brake fluid, and washer top-off. Old oil goes with me — nothing left in your driveway.

Squealing serpentine belt, overheating, coolant loss, a heater that blows cold. Pressure-tested to find the actual leak instead of replacing the radiator on a hunch.

Spare swap, plug-and-patch where it's safe to repair, and torque to spec. If the sidewall's gone or the wheel's bent, I'll say so and get you rolling on the spare instead of selling you a repair that won't hold.

I give you the service-call range and the parts cost up front, before I drive out. If it turns out to be something else once I'm under the hood, you hear the new number before I touch a wrench.

I show up with the tools and the parts, do the work on site, and clean up after myself. You drive away from your own driveway. If it genuinely needs a lift, I'll tell you that too — and not charge you for the trip.
A shop with no waiting room
Mobile Mechanic Road Service & Repair has been working out of Houston's north side for years, running out of a base on Merrimac Street in the 77093. The idea was never complicated: most of what goes wrong with a car doesn't actually require a building. It requires a person who knows what they're looking at, a scan tool, and the right parts in the back of the truck.
So that's the whole business. No service writer between you and the person doing the work. No "we'll call you Thursday." No sitting in a lobby watching a TV with the volume off while somebody decides whether your brake job is worth their afternoon. You talk to the mechanic, the mechanic does the job, and you watch it happen if you want to.
Being mobile also means being honest about limits. There are jobs that need a lift, a press, or a machine shop — transmission internals, alignment, frame work, anything that requires the vehicle off the ground for hours. When a call is one of those, you'll hear it on the phone before I drive out, not after. That's the part most people say they appreciate most.

Have these ready and the job goes faster
- The vehicle details. Year, make, model, engine size if you know it. It's on the sticker inside the driver's door jamb.
- Exactly where it's parked. Cross streets, apartment number, which level of the garage, or the mile marker. Text a photo of the spot if you can — it saves ten minutes of circling.
- What it's doing. "Won't crank, just clicks." "Starts then dies after a minute." "Grinding when I brake." Symptoms narrow the parts I load.
- Whether it's safe to work there. If you're on a freeway shoulder, stay in the vehicle with your belt on and call 911 first if you're in a live lane. I'll come to you, but not into traffic.
- Keys accessible. If the car's locked or the fob's dead, tell me up front so I bring the lockout kit.
- Payment. Cash, card, and most major mobile payment apps. Payment is due when the work is done and you've seen it run.
